I used to have a community on rollerfeet.tumblr, then Tumblr stopped answering support emails. /kvetch

…saying that a Negative X intensifies a Positive Y imagines a fairness and balance to the universe that does not line up…

This isn’t what people mean when they say that suffering exists to provide contrast/context to joy. If I show you a graph that displays how much I enjoyed CABIN IN THE WOODS you’d see a chart with a single line. That’s not terribly useful. If I added to that chart a line showing my enjoyment of GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE then you’d clearly see that CitW gave me an incredible amount of joy while GR:SoV made me a little unhappy. If I charted all of this past weekend’s BNAT movies on a timeline then you’d have even more data points and might even have enough data to chart how much joy other movies might bring me.

(Quote above from John Green’s post “The existence of broccoli does not in any way affect the taste of chocolate”.)

p.s. My review of BNAT is still being typed. Now, I think I’ll add a chart.

But for now we are done,
Let us lay in the crumbs
and count every beautiful thing we could eat

High-larious! I hope Jeff and Chris Bilheimer have a good sense of humor about this. (I know that John Green does.)
